Word of the Week: Hyperbole

Alright, lets jump right in. A hyperbole is a super exaggeration. For example, I’m so tired, I just ran a million miles.

I use hyperboles all the time. I use them like, every second of every day. (see what I did there?) I like exaggerating to get a point across. I’ll walk up to my friend and be like “Hey, how’s it going?”.

Then my friend will be all like “Good, I just beat this level in Lego Lord of the Rings. It took me like a billion hours to beat.”.

Then I’ll say “Cool, I just walked through a crowd of a million people to get here.”

Then my friend will respond with “They’re still bad friends because they don’t sit with us every day.”.

Do you see what I mean? We use hyperboles a lot. Alright, maybe not every second of every day, but pretty often.

If you enjoyed this Word of the Week, then why don’t you comment a suggestion for next week?

  1. I love the word of the week! It is very fun to see the cool things about some words. By the way, that game you speak of will take a billion hours to beat.
